2017 in Review and 2018 New Year’s Resolutions – A Reflection

Happy New year to everyone! We made it. It is now 2018 and we can start making some changes!

I wanted to take a moment just to reflect on the year before and share with you all my 2018 resolutions.

My 2017 was quite horrible, if I want to be transparent. I was hit with back to back disappointments throughout the year. I filed for divorce, moved around a lot, Eliaz was very sick, got played and I could go on, but the point is that I hit completely rock bottom that year. With all these distraction and mishaps going on in my life, I was unable to fully dedicate my time to my blog… to my readers. I do apologize for my inconsistency but I’m in the phase of getting my life together. My life has been overtaken by STRESS, ANGER, SADNESS and ANXIETY. But I want to take back control in this new year! I am reclaiming my time from these demons.

As for my 2018 New Year’s Resolutions, I am keeping them quite simple and realistic for me.

  1. Start a workout routine. I don’t want to depend on medication for my depression when I have natural and beneficial antidepressants all around me. And who doesn’t want to get that waist snatched?
  2. Blog consistently. I have really been of and on with my blogging, but I really want to get on a set schedule for my lovely readers.
  3. Drink water. My plan for this is that I drink water everyday and can only drink something else when I am at a social event or just out.
  4. Don’t spend money on eating out except once a month. Most of my coins go towards Chinese takeout and that ish will keep me broke. I’m trying to save up and resist the urge. I’ll treat myself to an outside food place once a month.
  5. Work on skin and hair care. I have blemishes and dark spots I need to get rid of. One of my missions is to have clean, clear, glowing skin by the end of 2018! As for my hair, got lazy after having Eliaz and fell off my hair care routine. I want to get this hair back to its former glory days.

I’m stopping right there for now. What do you guys think of my resolutions? Do you have any 2018 Goals? Comment and share them below!

I wish you well on your journey of healing this year! Remember not to rush the process. You have the right to feel angry, sad, etc. I am trying to figure out a good bloggibg schedule for myself while I’m in the middle of writing my 2nd book!

    Happy new year!

I pray that 2018 brings you blessings. You have survived, not it is time for you to soar. Thank you for sharing! I never make resolutions just monthly goals. I learned that I am more successful that way. And if I do no reach a goal during the year, I never feel like I failed. I look at all the other things I accomplished and just add it to the next month.

Your “drink water” resolution is a doable goal. I know most people do not like water very much, but there are ways to improve the taste and quality of the experience while getting the habit to stick. Simply infusing your water with a sprig of mint and a slice of lemon, or adding frozen berries can liven up a dull drink. I like a few slices of ginger, lemon, and lime on those days when I really need a mental pick me up! Wishing you all the success in 2018

I do love my water but the going to the bathroom frequently can get so annoying!

Great, simple goals! I have made my parenting goals, but plan to sit down this week and make ones for other areas of my life. The whole family plan to share them at the dinner table next week. Hope that things go better for you this year, and way to keep positive and push ahead to what God has for you! Blessings!

These are great goals, sorry for your 2017 but glad it’s in your past now! I think these goals are perfect for getting up and working forward for 2018. I need the water and skin and haircare too! I’m so bad to my skin and hair, I’m surprised it hasn’t rebelled more.
